ok, i will try and make this basic so that its easy to understand.
1) get a video file (mpeg or avi... some video formats[including avi] may have problems opening. So if in doubt, convert to mpeg. though this isnt a video conversion tutorial, so ill leave that bit out for now) 2) get adobe imageready (latest version at the moment is cs2) and install it 3) open the video file with imageready, keep hold of shift and select what part of the video you want to make an image 4) at the bottom timeline, select and delete (by clicking the trash can icon, pressing the delete key wont work) 5) not crop the image so that you only have in the moving picture what needs to be in it(with the crop tool on the left toolbar, hover mouse over tools to get tool names) tip: if you press play on the timeline and then use the crop tool then it will play whilst u adjust the crop size. this can help get the crop size perfect 6) resize the image (image> resize). now for a tt avatar you want the width and the height to be within 80 pixels. so select the largest of the two values and change it to 80. then click ok 7)now you want to optimise! click the 4 up tab above your image. now you will c 4 pics of different quality. the easiest way to get the best quality at the lowest size is to now change the ammount of colour used in the optimize window to the right and then altar the websnap and the reduction. you can see the file sizes beneath each of the 4 pics, so u will just be able to select the one that you want to use baised upon its file size and its quality. once youve selected the one you want to use, just click on the optimised tab above the PICTURE. (tt alows for 58kb i think) 8) now you need to save the gif. just goto file>save optimised as. and then your done EXTRA: when optimising you can make the avatar look realy cool by going into the colour table, selecting the colours that the gif is currently using and then change them to whatever. you can also delete colours that you dont want using the colour table when optamising to reduce the image size. ---- you can get imageready by using torrent download the imageready (comes with photoshop) torrent from here: www.torentspy.com and then open the torrent file with a torrent client www.bittornado.com ---- i hope this has been helpfull, comments welcome Last edited by alpha7158; Nov-27-05 at 02:33 AM.. |
