Default Fil for breakfast?

What do you think about this product nutrition wise?
As a replacement for milk that is.

Personally I've been eating it for as long as I can remember and I usually mix it up abit with a small tad of yoghurt for the taste. After that it's oatmeal into the mix and eat away (Yum!).

What are your thoughts about it? And don't just read the "Fermented, sour milk" part. Read through it all and get a picture of what it really is.
Don't know if you guys over in the US/Canada have this stuff.

It has the same texture as yoghurt but remove the sugar, taste and overall chunks of 'fruit' that is in yoghurt and you've got it.
Think of it as what white yoghurt would taste without vanilla.. Or eggplant, hell I don't know. It's very hard to describe for people who've never seen or had a taste of it.

Here's where cultural differences divide us. Yoghurt for me is 'Fil' with buckloads of sugar thrown in, some nice color to it and an added flavour.
Fil for me is natural yoghurt for you. They're basically the same thing in terms of texture (Don't know about taste.)

I'd guess the difference between the two would be the types of bacteria used in the mix.

Fil is just like natural youghurt, a bit runnier not as thick, and a bit more sour. I havent seen it anywhere else but Sweden and Denmark.

No, Kefir and Fil are not the same things, similar but still not the same.
Quoting Wikipedia on Kefir:
This drink is prepared by inoculating cow's or goat's milk with the grains - or "beads" - of previous kefir batches. Kefir grains are a combination of bacteria and yeasts in a matrix of proteins, lipids and sugars.
Kefir can also contain alcohol

Mind you I tried fil in combination with oatmeal and they don't really like one another. Tastes sort of like wet paper that you've stuffed in there. Not really the best way to begin the day.
