Oops can somebody move this to the correct section?

So like I can already flag like this.

How do I get my arms and legs completely straight?

The flag you are doing is the harder and more impressive version. The guy in the gym is doing a less advanced version recommended to people learning the move.

If i get you wrong and you actually meant that you are the guy in the gym and you wanna improve to do the move that the guy on the lamppost is doing, well it is simply a matter of becoming stronger, so excercise more and practice the move until you can do it.

If you notice the guy in the gym is only using his hands on the pole. Much more difficult than the first photo.

Ya, the 1st photo I have a friend who learned to do it that way in one tricking session. The 2nd photo is the harder version. It seems you have your top rotated to hold from the opposite side I do. It could be your preference but you may want to try holding from the other side with that arm. Anyways, here's a guide it probably says more than I could http://www.beastskills.com/Flag.htm

In my experience with working with flags. Having a thin strong stable pole is the best. If the pole is thick it is harder to grip and control yourself and you'll get less of a workout because of that. To do horizontal flag I think working on verticals and slowly lowering them down to horizontals is a great progressive method.
