YOU! Yes you!
You eat healthier than your friends? You eat less than your friends? You exercise as much or more? Yet you still are fatter? Then you my friend am in my position... unfortunately you have a glandular metabolism problem. Now im not talking to you Mr. 30% body fat but more you Mr 25%-20%. In our modern society you are at a disadvantage because your glands (most probably your thyroid) is giving you trouble and making losing that 5% very difficult. Now I am down to 10% body fat and have been for some time but only after strict dieting, calorie counting and hardwork that actually endangered me at times. Although this aproach did work it is still very hard (even though it is worth the work) but in my adventures I came to a conclusion that i found very helpful. I was and am staring down the barrel of my biggest year of study. And the kind of score i want means that exercise time and time to mess with food scheduling would become more scarce, though i did not want too spend the next 8 months undoing my hard work and spend the 8-12 months after that fixing the problem. I arrived at a point in thinking that changed everything. My family already eat very healthy! I before my weight loss still exercised as much as every other athletic person! ... I don't have to change my routine i have to change my... GLANDS! This began with a trip to my pharamacist that of course ended up with her telling me to take this and that and destroy my liver and damage me with side-effects. This morphed into a trip to the doctor where i was prescribed this and that to destroy my liver and damage me with side-effects. At this point this venture only reaffirmed my disenchantment with western medicine. And so I looked elsewhere! I ventured on the web... and found a copious amount of shit! I asked around at my TKD and found somone else with same problem... This Individual did Tai Chi, a system of stimulating glands to produce favorable effects for the body... FUCKING BINGO!!!! I had always thought that taking up a medatative style practice like Tai Chi would improve my health but i did not actually realise the gains that would be made in a such a short space of time and just how wide reaching they were! All of my injuries ceased to plague me my posture was remarkebly better and I even noticed a difference in areas like eyesight. What most peaple fail to realise about things like Yoga and Tai Chi is just how accurate and how much the practioners Know about the body... They actually do know on a physiological level what every movement and posture is stimulating or cleansing. But I digress... The Art I found most useful for myself was bikram (not knocking anything else. Tai Chi was just as good for joints and i still do it because it benefits other areas of the body more than bikram yoga does) Bikram Yoga is a yoga done in a heated (or cooled room i guess) that is kept at the temperature of your blood and is a seiries of poses that i find super helpful for exactly this glandular problem! I have been doing this yoga now for just on 3 months and have been able to relax my diet and put more time into study now without gaining any weight and i feel much better all around anyways! The first session will be full on for those who do have the gland problems and will feel naucious and in some cases very feint... this is a mix of toxins and pressure on area to normalise that would normaly not do so! This may be difficult but after the session you will feel your post Bikram high and feel refreshed an rejuvinated like never before! Peaple may notice a few changes in you: You will get thinner of course, You will lose all the pimples you had, Your skin will actually tan up a little (Don't know why but it seemed to happen easier and many others say they expeirienced the same) A big change will be that you will be of a far more equal mood and disposition and your strange adrenaline bursts will stop happening (this is your glands BTW) Well thats all i have to say about that... Now go do some of the YOGA SHIT! or TAI CHI SHIT! P.S. The Yoga Tree if you live in melbourne australia is the only place i have found that does bikram but search around! |
