Is there any difference between stoving and microwaving a bowl of oatmeal? I've so far only done it the stove way (boil water, throw in oats, medium heat for 5 minutes) and I'd like to get it done a little quicker for the morning. Any difference in taste/nutrition?

If whatever difference in taste is THAT important to you than I suppose oven, but microwaved oatmeal isn't a big deal to me so I use it for the purpose of efficiency and saving time.

Cooking takes away some of the nutritional value.
Microwaving takes away a bit more than the stove, but you really shouldn't worry about it unless you're working with veggies. It's pretty hard to screw up oats. |
