You are prolly either over-stretching or contracting too hard. Ease up and back off a little bit. Also, are you doing them every day? Give yourself a day or two in between isometrics to heal.

Yeah i just gave myself a 2 day break and i went to stretch and it still hurt like a bitch after but will i still get results even though it hurts like a bitch?

When you do it again, do you think you're contracting as hard or harder? Isometrics is also a form of strength training so if you're recovering properly (with the protein) the muscles can become stronger.
That's assuming the pain is from the actual muscle hypertrophy, it could also be joint or flexibility related or hell, maybe even lactic acid buildup. |

Stretching Scientifically says that you shouldn't ever be sore after isometric training, let alone when you begin the next session. This makes sense since soreness is presumably an indication of damage.
My advice: don't do so much that you're sore the next day, don't train on sore muscles, and only do isometrics 3-4 times a week. Also, observe the results yourself - try training less so that you don't feel soreness, then if you make slow progress, train a bit harder. Experiment (within reason). Futurebb: If it hurts like a bitch, you may still get results but probably slow ones, and you could risk injury. Try training so that you don't get soreness and see if the gains are different. |

Well, first of all you should actually reconsider applying isometrics, you're still in the body-growth stage, it might have something to do with it as well.

Well personally, for me, 2 days break is not nearly enough. Also unless you're already top conditioned vet split master I think 4 times a week is wayy too much and pavel agrees. If you're just beginning stretching or haven't done much splitting before I really suggest only something like 2 times a week.
Start it slow so you like it, then it becomes a habit. Try 3 times a week after four weeks or so and see how it feels and adjust properly. You could even mix 2 and 3 times a week for different weeks. The main point is to stay FRESH, if you try to hurry you'll only screw yourself up and lose flex, trust me I know. |

That doesn't make sense. Soreness doesn't mean injury. Soreness can happen from either muscle breakdown, or from the H+ release from lactic acid buildup. Since you don't move in static stretches, it's harder to pump out those waste products you produce in the isometric stretching, and with the extensive durations people static stretch for, soreness just occurs.
Maybe what he means is just if you're getting sore, you're squeezing harder than required to relax the opposite muscle, or being too progressive, or just being too progressive in intensity or duration. |
