Are there any guides or video on how to start breakdancing because I felt like getting into it? Thanks.

yeah man use those sites, but why would you need any guides? bboying consist of 3 different aspects: footwork, freezes, and power. if you just work on the footwork and freezes to start with, and then slowly getting into power, you'll be fine. that's what all guides will tell you.

This is the way I PERSONALLY would learn it:
0.) Have a good handstand...please. 1.) Toprock first. (This really brings out your own style and flavor.) 2.) Footwork. This isnt too hard, but its crucial, and can be used in many-a transition. I personally started iwth 3 step, but I suggest starting with 6 step then 3 step then 2 step....then any other steps you want. A 1-step is typically just a Capoeira move and really shouldnt be used in BBoy vids/battles (in my opinion). 3.) Freezes. Mainly becauase you can transition between your footwork to a freeze then to something else. 4.) Handstand moves....like Hollowbacks, 1990s, stuff like that. 5.) At this point, you probably know transitions (or at least can make up your own shitty ones) then you can go on to whatever you want from there. Of course, this is only the way I suggest. There are definitely many other ways to approaching BBoying. |

^true^
i used to bboy too, but i started to dislike the dancing more and more (i just sucked at it, and i was too lazy too practice) and i became more of a powerhead. in the end i just sticked with tricking and incorporated 1990s and windmills in my combo's. |
