There have been a few threads about fulltwists and I am planning on making a video tutorial but until I can do a triple on grass I am not confident I have mastered it enough to give proper advice
I do have a double on grass now though (thats my 2nd try) ![]() this is the only one *I* have on tape, I did a much better one at a mini gathering and I think shido or someone else at the gathering might have it. the pre-requesit of the full is a roundoff backflip and recommended but not needed is a roundoff layout now there are 2 main types of fulls, there are the gymnast fulls where your head goes straight around perpendicular to the ground, then there are the trickster full (though many tricksters do gymnast fulls) where your head doesn't really go all the way around ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAA9dFqfduQ clearly the gymnast one is better (not that tricksters are bad) simply because the other one is somewhat of a cheat, plus it is really hard to double or triple full like that of the gymnast full there are 3 main types: The LAYOUT full: where you start completely in layout form at takeoff then midway throught the flip you pull to the side to full. This looks very clean, but thats about it, though many gymnasts use it for fulls and double fulls, those doing triples and quads on plyo and doubles, triple and quads on grass (yep quad on grass) do not, there is just not enough spining power in doing it like that The ARABIAN full: this is not used by too many people and is mainly for super high fulls. Stephen friend uses this technique and he can doublefull on grass (probably triple too) with room to spare. using this technique it is recommended you have a layout because many tricksters try to do this and end up doing it like the vid in the link above. in this method you pretty much go for an arabian but stay layed out and then pull to the side to spin, I have not tried this for anything but a full, but it worked well for a really high full ex: (stephen friend)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKLzFeGp-SA The MOST COMMON full: This is as you may have guessed the most common type, this is used by Anis in his triple full on grass, Tumblegod from Prox on his quad on grass and pretty much everyone who can standing doublefull. This is in between the two types, you don't start out straight foreward, or backwards, you rather go about 1/4-1/3 to the side *with the top portion of your body* while your legs stay straight foreward then just after you takeoff you pull to the side this may seem a little vague but i have found that the only advice that I found worked was NOT the specific stuff, but the general stuff and people like matt R saying "just do it" along with some insults. nobody can tell you how to do something so that you will get it first try, but guide lines and trying for yourself are the best way to go at tricks |
