Greets, name's Caleb, I live in a small town and work at McDonald's. First off I want to say that Juji is probably the greatest man who's ever lived for making this site, not only is it a godsend of information, it is fun to read as well. The reason I'm here is because I'm one of those kids who are overweight and try to do something about it, but end up failing and going back to playing WoW and crying that I'm a failure to all my other online failures...(not really) But ever since I have come in contact with tricking, it has been my ultimate goal to start. I've never had such a passion to do something in my life and my dad isn't too keen about it. He said "You've gotta be in great shape to do anything." (clicks on nutrition thread..) I've bought a lot of healthy things, vanilla whey, (get chocolate...seriously) and the suggested supplements and have been slowly working my way towards a better tricking body. Basically what I'm trying to say, minus the life story, is that tricking is drastically changing me and I am forever thankful for Juji and anyone else who might help me in the future. Phew.

Yeh join the club
You just gotta ditch ppl with negative affect on you and ignore the rest. I fucking hate it when some passer by gives me the eye and thinks I'm some sorta wierdo loser when I'm practising a new move. It's all about last laughs really, those who are cynical fucks get to rot in their misery and we... we flashkick their fucking head off ![]() |

It's good to try to get in shape, but you can start many über-basics right now! If the "six basic tricks" are too much, start by practicing things like cartwheels, handstands, and simple kicks (especially crescents/similar). Some may think these are lame, but they have many benefits.
Also read Juji's flexibility section if you haven't already. Dynamic flexibility is essential for awesomeness, and you'll want passive flexibility as well. Also, Juji's 2P Weaponising Tactics article might be of interest. |

Dang, thanks everyone for the replies and welcome. I totally agree on Shadow's quote, but I should include that my dad doesn't want me to do it, not because he doesn't like it, but because he is worried about me becoming paralyzed. For being 6' 1" and around 260 lbs. I have quite the flexibility, hell, I could kick above my head my second day of dynamic stretching. Plus, I have been practicing prerequisites including Tornado Kicks, Crescents both inside and out, but not so much cartwheels because I already do them enough as it is. Thanks again for the advice and the support. I feel tricking is going to be one of the most rewarding paths I will ever take.
