Default Avatars

Why don't you just disable uploaded avatars and make them offsite only?

I wish that worked! You can upload one from an off site source in the "edit your avatar" dialogue by inputing an external URL, but it ultimately stores it in the database.

Sucks!

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking, hmmm. That stinks, you'd think vBulletin in all it's greatness would allow you to link offsite avatars as well.

Hey Juji, you may want to look into this:

That's for vbulletin 2.0 which is 5 years old now. I'm looking into another possible solution by disabling avatar viewing for guests. Since usually there is a 1:5 ratio of registered users online to guests; This could reduce the traffic substantially.

Personally I like the new change. Animated GIFS can grow old, and in this case it's worth having a larger image as the tradeoff.

There really was no reason we shouldn't of had larger dimension images as avatars to begin with, I was just being a jackass and left 100x100 as the maximum amount. I'll figure out the maximum image dimensions before it begins stretching the postbit template later and change it to that for extra increase.

Stretchage reserved only for special people though, as it already is.
