Default Another tricking newb

Hi tricks totorial
Ive just started tricking about 1 week ago and just found out their was a forum for it!
I think im ready for it
  • got the nutrition down for tricking since im a bit of a health freak.
  • previous experience.....little bit of capeoria not alot and became apart of freerunning 2 years ago
so just began to learn aerials and im getting some new mats soon to practice with
so far so good right no broken bones
but i just would like to know from the current members if i their are any special things that would improve my jump or flexibility or anything such as that?

Another newb thread. This is the second one today. But we all gotta start somewhere, right? Since I'm feeling nice today, I'll tell ya where to start. The six basics on the homepage are good to start at. But you need the prequisites, right?

540 kick=Tornado Kick.
Butterfly Twist-Butterfly Kick
Backflip-None.
Aerial-Cartwheel, One handed Carthweel (Optional, IMO.)
360 Crescent-None, except for a good standing, spinning outside crescent.
Doubleleg-360 Crescent is good, but not neccesary.

I'm hoping you know what each move looks like, but if not, heres a brief description.

540-A kick in which you step through 180 degrees, throw up your arms and non-kicking leg, throw an inside crescent/roundhouse kick, and land on the KICKING LEG. This move takes off with one leg, you kick with the leg you jumped with, and then land on the leg you kicked with. Not as easy as it sounds. BTW-You don't actually rotate 540 degrees in the air....

Butterfly Twist-A move in which you....ah hell, I can't really explain this one. Its a butterfly kick with a 360 rotation in it.

Backflip-You better know what a backflip is. But if not, its a 360 rotation on the "X" axis (I think its the x axis).

360 Crescent-A kick where you step through 180, jump off of both legs, and throw an outside crescent kick. Then land. Simple.

Doubleg-Imagine a 360 Crescent, but with both legs and body parrallel to the ground. Its...hard to explain.

Since I didn't give the best descriptions, go to the homepage and download the examplers. Then you'll see. Now, what to work on to keep you motivated:

Au Batido
Starfish
Kip-Up
Handsprings (Front and Back)
Wallflips
Corkscrews
More advanced kicks that don't lead to anything except kicks with higher spins (i.e, pop 720, pop 900, Crescent 540, etc.)

Some of the tricks that add motivation are kind of difficult to do, (cork, wallflip, pop 720s and 900s) so wait till your experienced and do those when you're not getting anywhere with, say, the Jacknife. Out of the basics, I'd recommend learning the Aerial, Backflip, and 540 first. 360 Crescent is kinda a freebie, in my opinion. Film yourself. Even though you may think you can cartwheel, you may be putting your hands too far behind you to make it easier. Therefore, it ends up slanted. But it will usually feel the same, whether your doing it right or wrong. So film yourself. Hmmm...study the technique for each trick, and don't be lazy and keep your limbs near the ground. When drilling b-kicks and twists, dont just throw one leg up and leave the other near the ground. Throw that shit up and glide, bitch! It makes it look better. Never give up, train only when you want to or you won't get any better (I know from experience, if you overtrain, you'll learn slower)don't get frusturated, or, once again, you won't learn as fast, and, most importantly, don't drink gasoline prior to trickin.

Good resources:
http://www.justincataldo.com Great site. Loads of examplers, old and new, and a shitload of samplers.

http://www.club540.com I personally hate the place haha. But you might find the trictionary helpful.

http://www.steve-terada.com Watch him and put his technique into play with your stuff. You will get better.

http://www.bilang.com I think thats the link...some samplers and shit.

http://trickstutorials.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5686 Thread with loads of great video tutorials, and text tutorials. Go there.

Thats about it. I should get this stickied for all noobs or returning noobs after I improve it haha. This is getting repetitive, typing this all the time.

Good luck man. If you ever need help on something, PM me and I'll personally....find a tutorial for the move you need haha.
