My backtucks are good... excellent even,
but the other day I attempted one wearing shoes and could barely land in a squat. Is the technique much different in shoes? Should you stall as much? tips? comments? shoes = evil? |

you just have to train in shoes for shoes, i think. had the same problem.... still do kinda. I just mainly concentrate on the backflip more. Tight tuck, high jump, arm swing, etc.

I think I'm setting too much with shoes... Next time I'll try flipping faster =P
heh, the other day when I tried one I landed squatted, and right when I landed I reached my arms back behind my back to try to regain some balance because I was starting to lean forward... They snagged on my shirt and I fell onto my mouth from squatting height. My braces took a chunk out of the top of my lip. It was super funny. |

shoes = weight.
Shoes are typically 11+ ounces unless you buy the running pairs of the specially made pairs. Even if its only 11 ounces, since its at your feet, it influences peoples tucks. I suggest if you really want to do back tucks with shoes, try with slippers or lighter shoes first (or even socks layered on top of each otehr) to get used to the extra weight |

I guess I'll have to practice more. Its a very different feeling I admit. My normal backtucks are nice and floaty, and unless I open up really early, I always over-rotate and skip my feet... which hurts... >_<
So practice practice practice it is.... too bad we got had a rainstorm, and the grass is soggy |
