Default crashed 57 times

hey guys first time poster...I came accross this site ages ago then got into tricking.....practiced for about 2 days, learned how to do a backspring then gave up the first time i seriously crashed. Now i really want to get into tricking....and my problem is my backflip. You're all probably sick of bf problems but i would really apreciate some feedback.....I can do everything fine up untill the tuck, i've recorded myself and it looks like i've got the start right but as soon as i start the tuck i fall like a sack of shit, there was one time when I recorded myself and I looked the jujimufu in this pic (only I was fully tucked.....same sorta height) then i just literally fell straight down....and on laminate flooring it hurts like a bitch...anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

A vid would help, really. It could be that you're not tucking hard enough, or long enough, or tucking at the wrong time. If you have the strength to execute a trick, but still can't, try varying something, or else you'll just be drilling a bad technique (which takes a longer time to get rid of than to just find the right one for you; in general, that is).

Good Luck Training!! Until we meet again...

When you said that you fell you didnt specify what you fell on.

If your tucking you body into your legs then your going to kill all of your backward rotation and just land on your back or head. Make sure that you are tucking you legs towards your chest and not just curling your chest down. You should be keeping your body mostly straight.

If your flip looks ok untill the tuck your arms are most likley doing what they should be. But make sure that when you go into the tuck your not just kind of doing whatever with your arms, tuck those in too, they help you rotate a lot.
Watch Juji's "finally back" video and notice what happens in the first few tries when he dosnt use his arms a whole lot. it just dosnt carry through, that might help to.
I find its good to watch videos of people doing it right, study that, then watch soem videos of people doing it wrong, it helps to find problems that you might experience.

Hope ive helped your flip.

perhaps its divine intervention - you tried 57 times but you were never menna get it!

I can see that you're untucking prematurely. This will obivously make you underrotate. Also your center of gravity in this clip is in your waist. You should be making this a lot higher up. When trying to flip, lift your hips up, it sounds strange but it's not difficult. When at the tip of the jump when you tuck, also push your lower body up as well, this will raise your center of gravity allowing you to gain more height in this move. (You're only as high as your hips)

i know exactly what you are doing wrong. its a common problem to bring chest to knees. in the tuck you should be leaning backward whilst bringing knees to chest hard do not bring your chest to knees!

Quoted for truth. Yes, don't lean with your chest on your knees, because you will rotate very slowly. Bring your knees to chest, and you will rotate fast.

"Don't tuck too early. Jump up then just let your body roll over and tuck." -Jujimufu
