Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, but I've overheard a few guys today talking about how with persistent biking routines men are more proned to develop testicular cancer. They continued to say that as you bike your testicles get jammed on the seat and as a result heat up killing off a large quantity of sperm. With regular routines you sperm count decreases to disgustingly low levels and a higher probability of a malignant tumour developing. I was a bit concerned as I bike more often then run since its safer on the joints, so I went to my friend who is in first year biomed and he said the same thing, but didn't know if it was a rumour or it was validated.
Has anyone heard anything remotely similar that can be backed up with scientific facts. Thanks in advance. |

I've heard similar, but I'm pretty sure that it's only for people who do like 6 hours + training a day like real hardcore competitive cyclers.

![]() I don't think they could have been designed any worse. When I didn't have access to a car I ended up riding my bike everywhere for a week, I still can't handle the thought of riding anywhere. |

Those seats hurt. They have those gel pads which work wonders. Although, they don't use the gel pads at the workout place I go to; they use rubber padding.
Btw; I workout 3 times a week and bike for 30 minutes each time. I should be fine? I hope ... |

If your just biking in the gym on one of those stationary bikes theres realy nothing you can do. But there are bike seats that actually have a hole in the middle of the seat so you have a little room to feel comfortable. They are not to expensive and they are a lot more comfortable then the standard bike seat because of the way they are shaped.
And if your still worried ive heard that its good to masterbate after you bike for an extended period of time to help get the blood circulation going again. |

having worked in the bike dept of halfords for around three years, and being interested in biking anyway ive seen alot of saddles in my time...
i had a great one, made by 24seven, all gel molding. the fatter the saddle, the more padding but the more inside leg chafe-age. the thinnger the saddle, the more leg clearance (so racing bikes = tiny saddles) i think theres a brand called Terry's cycles that made male-specific saddles, so if you're interested in the links between check them out. They have big gaps in the middle of the saddle to rest your balls in ![]() |
