My body is pretty regular in terms of build and weight. Despite this however, my chest is, as embarassing as it is to say, flabby. Why this is, I can't say. I wanted to ask the community here if this was a normal thing or is it something I should see a physician about? Personally it's a problem I have to get rid of (otherwise I'm not comfortable). If it is a normal occurrence, or even if it isn't; does anyone know of a good way to tone the chest, and an approximate time of which it may take to tone them? (No, I don't expect it to happen in days. I'm guessing up to six months?)
Sorry to bother the communiy like this, but it is a dilemma I have to sort out. I've checked various websites and the like, but I can't really find any information on my problem. If anyone could give me a hand, I'd appreciate it. Once again, sorry. (Note: I have tried stuff such as flies, pushups, bench presses, etc. As of yet, nothing has worked). |

It's not so much that I dont have a chest.
It's just too flabby. At this point I'd be happy to just get RID of it, or tone it INTO muscle. |

Go on a diet and lose weight (fat specifically). Once your BF% is low enough your chest will no longer be flabby. If it still is then you probably have gynecomastia and will need to see a surgeon, most likely, to ultimately correct it. If you're still an adolescent then it may correct itself -- if you are older, it's unlikely that this will happen.
You can do all the chest exercises in the world, but until you lose the fat, you will still have a flabby chest. And, even then, you may need surgery as said. Last edited by chicanerous; Mar-03-06 at 08:11 PM.. |

proper diet and cardio i think should do well,as chicanerous said lower the body fat %, also do incline barbell bench press , and incline dumbell presses it helps develop the upper portion of the chest and will tone it too, but for more information consult a personal trainer at your gym(if u go to one) and ask him for advise and tell him what your goal is.

For the most part I only use dumbells and the occasional barbell, but when it comes to the chest area I find that "pec deck" machines do the job, at least until you are more experienced and can do the same motion with dumbells. Then there are the staple moves such as the benchpress ect. Wide armed push ups help build a good foundation as well.

What can I do to target inner pecs other than say DB Flies? Flies seem to wrench my bad shoulder...

You need to do something for fat loss, and then you need to work the muscles there to give them some sort of definition. Weak muscles can look flabby sometimes. Erik, I highly doubt you're at a level where you need to isolate the different areas of the chest like that. Just stick with basic compound movements like the bench press. |
