Wallflips are really easy to do. If you can get over the initial fear, you should have no problem. The only thing about a backflip is you may just need to work-up you jumping/tucking ability(neurological connections play a big part - as well as muscle strength/speed etc...)... so in that, that could be your fear factor? The fact that your body just needs to build up the ability to be able to perform a backflip...

Okay I am a really new n00b who started martial arts but my theory why you rnt scared when you do wall flip is becouse you run up the wall, then on 0.01 seconds u prepare not be scared cuz u are already in 90 degrees then you just need your last fear to overcome. thats why i think its easier.. anyone who disagree plz dont call me n00b.. :P:P

Synok I won't call you a n00b as I don't know your background but try be more assertive in your posts. You'll just confuse him.
In my personal experience, practicing a backtuck is easier, because when you have somebody spotting you, you're standing on the spot, with a wallflip you run into it allowing a lot of room for error. My problem is getting to 90 degrees because I don't thrust my hips up at all and land flat on my back. When I get my back handsprings sorted I'll give it another shot though. A bhs is a good requisite for this move for a few reasons. If you bail, you can just back handspring out, there is a similar motion to the move. I personally believe a wallflip is more similar to a bhs. Can you do a back handspring? Maybe the wall gives you a sense of security? Try back handsprings then have a go at backtucks, it can help with the fear issue. |

the prob with the back flip, is that i cannot concieve that a full rotation can be completed with waiting for your peak height and then turning, the problem wiht me is that, i have the mentality to jus start the rotation as i leave the ground..
so i try the pro way.... in a gym,,, I DID IT but.... i dont practice it for another 3 days,, and then i get scared again,,, i was land on ma stomach or knees,,, it sux |
