Hi. I'm a newbie thinking of buying a camcorder to record my tricking sessions and was just wondering what would be a good one to get. Sorry, Don't know much about cameras and was just wondering what type of features you trickster types deem as being essential.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanx Last edited by Liquid_cake; Jan-28-07 at 05:17 AM.. Reason: pppp |

Slow motion playback is a feature that may or may not come with the camera. It could be any number of types, so once you know what kind of camera you have, find and see if it has that feature. If you can transfer footage to your computer, most video editing programs will have a slow mo playback feature (also for editing). I'd recommend digital if you want better quality and have an easier time transferring footage to your computer. However if you don't care about that and just want to review your footage, you can do that with any analog cam or whatever. You really wouldn't have to spend more than $300 to get something decent with all the basics you need.

if you want slow motion so you can see what your doing, you can get any digital camera with 30 fps video (tigerdirect is really good) if you want smooth slow motion playback your looking at much more that a couple hundred like most digital cameras, tigerdirect has the microtek take it digital camera which is perfect for someone who doesn't care if the image isn't crystal clear
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ab=11&NoMapp=0 if you do want crystal clear then just go down to wal-mart or something and get some sony or canon camera for like 400-800 dollars there all pretty good, I don't know much about them cause im not rich, I work at mcdonalds! |

Get a compact one so it's not as much of a hassle to carry it around.

Sony cybershot, round 212$ Prolly cheaper now, and even more on ebay.
Easy to use, easy to upgrade, easy to upload. I could go film a trick and have it uploaded to youtube in less than 8 minutes. " I would take a picture of it, but I reached a paradox |

pretty much any digital mini-dv camcorder will work. if all you want is to record your trick sessions, watch them, and show them off on the internet. if you want really cheap, go for ebay, but always be cautious when buying stuff on ebay.

I have a Sony HC21... the camera's picture quality isn't the greatest, but it's good enough for tricking (I don't need crystal-clear picture of just tricking)It can stream via USB port, so loading footage is pretty quick for me. It has slow-motion playback and other features I don't use. I bought it for $400 but I think I saw it the other day for 350ish. It's compact and has a touch-screen and unless you want really clear picture I'd recommend it.
